Promoter lets fans know where and when the GGG Canelo rematch should take place and also fires shots at Conor McGregor.
The former 10-time world champion turned boxing promoter Oscar De La Hoya has been in the news a lot of late following comments made pertaining to Conor McGregor.
Closer to his usual business these days outside of fighting anymore, promoting, he has an update for fight fans on what is happening at the moment with the GGG Canelo rematch.
Speaking to TMZ, De La Hoya confirmed that they are targeting the Cinco De Mayo weekend of 2018 for Las Vegas for the fight again.
At the same venue of the T-Mobile Arena where the first fight happened.
Speaking on how a boxing match would play out between him and Irishman Conor McGregor, De La Hoya added:
“It would have taken me two rounds. All due respect to Conor but he’s not a boxer he’s an MMA fighter. In the cage Conor will destroy me. But in boxing, come on. Bro, two rounds — that’s all I need.”
De La Hoya’s last fight in the boxing ring came almost a decade ago when he was defeated inside the distance back in 2008 by Manny Pacquiao.
De La Hoya retired with a professional boxing record of 39-6-30KO.
