The Sergey Kovalev comeback fight following losses to Andre Ward took place at Madison Square Garden in New York last night.
In many ways he was expected to win, but the dominant fashion in which he did so with a 2nd round TKO was impressive to be fair.
He looked switched on from the get go and has said that he is now living the life of a boxer more in between fight camps, so who knows, perhaps there is plenty of big performances left in him just yet.
A fight against Adonis Stevenson in 2018 would be a cracker, if it can finally be made that is.
For the meantime, boxing fans around the world have been chiming in with their thoughts on his bout last night:
Also: I’ve given up on Kovalev-Stevenson. Stevenson has turned the WBC belt into a boxing hostage, and he has become totally irrelevant to boot.

revisionist history is easy, but the fact remains Kovalev surrendered in that second Ward fight.

And for the record Andre Ward @andreward is a boxing GOD, he dismantled the main event and co main event winners tonight (Kovalev & Barrera) when they were undefeated and still gets no credit. HOW SWAY?!? lol #NewMedia
