One of the worst kept secrets in boxing is out of the bag as Floyd Mayweather admits that he carried Conor McGregor.
For those not familiar with the term being “carried” in boxing, it essentially refers to one fighter taking it easy on another for a certain number of rounds.
Basically toying with a competitor while having had the ability to finish a contest much quicker than what they decided to in the end.
Following Floyd Mayweather’s 10th round TKO victory over Conor McGregor last August, many within boxing were not too surprised by what they saw.
In that Mayweather began to turn it on when he choose to as the fight progressed.
Even adopting a fight style against his usual defensive instincts as he proceeded to march forward and walk McGregor down.
A couple of months on, Mayweather has not come clean that he did in fact carry McGregor in the fight while speaking on vacation:
“Everybody is trying to protest the Mayweather-McGregor fight but I’m going to tell y’all the truth. You know I carried McGregor. You know I made it look good for y’all.”
Well, there you have it.
Despite recent reports of a comeback – Floyd Mayweather has reaffirmed he is well and truly retired from the sport of boxing.
