Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois comparisons have come up from fans following another powerful display from Dubois tonight.
From a fight style and punching power comparison, sure, there are certainly similarities but as Daniel Dubois would surely admit himself at this point, the difference in experience is considerable.
Joshua himself didn’t exactly have a long amateur career before turning over. Despite wining Olympic Gold.
But Dubois had an even shorter amateur tenure with just seven bouts before turning pro. Having said that he’s making incredibly impressive, fast progress so far.
A 2nd round stoppage of former Joshua opponent Dorian Darch of Wales tonight further proof of his considerable gifts with his fists.
Joshua stopped Darch also in the second round as it happens. Back in early 2014.
Following the win his promoter Frank Warren said if he asked him he’d fight Joshua tomorrow.
He wasn’t the only one bringing up Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois in the same sentence tonight:

@DynamiteDubois looking good!! I think you’re the real deal would love to see you fight AJ in a couple of years #goingalltheway ??

You forgot the age difference. Dubois is age 20 and Joshua is age 28. Dubois did better against Darch then Joshua did. Dubois dropped Darch multiple times and Joshua didn’t drop him.

Daniel Dubois is a fearsome machine…. Still early in his journey to talk about fighting Joshua. If & when it does happen, that would be some fight

Daniel Dubois is better than what Joshua was at this stage. What he done to Dorian Darch is something AJ couldn’t even do, brilliant young heavyweight @DynamiteDubois

Daniel Dubois would beat Joshua

I think I am correct in saying that Daniel Dubois beat Dorian Darch one SECOND quicker than Anthony Joshua did. Heavy hitting, young man once to watch in 2018
