Tonight’s Conor Benn fight of the year contender for anyone who watched the full six rounds from start to beginning will tell you – was simply thrilling.
An almost maniacal intensity was in Benn’s work tonight, whose French opponent Cedrick Peynaud gave an incredible display for himself too.
Unlucky to not get the draw in the end.
Benn won the bout by three rounds and was forced to get up from a heavy knockdown early on to come back into the fight and knockdown his opponent multiple times later in the contest.
While the dust is still settling on what was a titanic battle, one that left fans almost speechless, if you want an idea of just what kind of dust-up this was – this clip here right before the fight ended will give you an idea of the ferocity on display:

Talk about a war.
The win improived Benn’s record to 11-0 (8KO) and will no doubt offer a big learning perspective for him moving forward in his future development.
Since turning pro in April 2016 he’s been busy, which is positive for this development, but will still need a lot more fights before stepping up to European level in the coming 24 months or so.
Perhaps 2018 could offer a British or Commonwealth title opportunity but one suspects he will not be rushed given his limited amateur experience before turning over.
