This Conor Benn fight of the year candidate had everything. Knockdowns, bombs, heart and guts. Essentially a street brawl inside a professional boxing ring.
It turns out the apple doesn’t fall too far from the warrior tree.
Conor Benn, son of legendary fighter Nigel Benn, despite not been at his best last night, was involved in a battle that surely his father would have been proud of.
In the end Benn got the nod by three rounds.
A bit harshly some thought who believed the bout should have been a draw – but that does not take away from the fact that the six rounds put on by both men were among the best in recent memory.
In case you missed it, here’s highlights from the folks at Sky Twitter (hat tip) of the all out war with Benn and Frenchman Cedrick Peynaud:

Incredible action that left both men bloodied and battered at the end of the contest.
The win improved Benn’s record in the pro ranks to 11-0 in what has been a quick start to his professional tenure.
Following the fight his promoter mentioned an English or Southern Area title in 2018 was the next immediate goal before stepping up further in class.
