Tyson Fury makes interesting suggestion for two of his closest rivals Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder in possibly a sensible bit of matchmaking.
Fury’s a boxer of course, not a matchmaker or promoter.
But with the way the sport of boxing and indeed all of professional sports have gone over the last few years, athletes like Fury have become remarkable self-promoters on social media in their own right.
The Manchester man and former heavyweight champion of the world received good news this week when his long-awaited UKAD hearing found that he can return to the sport in 2018.
Pending a successful application for his boxing license.
That should be a formality mind you. Particularly now that he’s losing the weight again – but when he’s back next year he wants nothing but the big fights it appears.
Speaking today on Twitter today Fury offered this suggestion to Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder:
“Why don’t
@anthonyfjoshua fight@BronzeBomber it’s a great fight & the winner can fight me? Both fit & ready@MatchroomBoxing @loudibella.”
Wilder for his part however is expected to take on Luis Ortiz in the early new year.
While Joshua is expected to fight next up in a unification with WBO title holder Joseph Parker.
