After the fight Saunders credited his new trainer Dominic Ingle for turning his career around this year from where it was previously. Citing the move up to Sheffield as a key part in turning his fortunes around this year.
He also called out Golovkin straight after the fight and assured “GGG” that he is now in love with boxing again and is back to his best.
Reaction to the display for the most part has been positive, with many complimentary of Saunders’ boxing skills in particular.
