A Floyd Mayweather proposal came in the form of a matchmaking suggestion for Ukraine boxing phenom Vasyl Lomachenko – who’s had a rather interesting reaction to it.
The boxing world went a little bananas yesterday when it thought that Lomachenko on first appearances, had called out Floyd Mayweather for a showdown in 2018.
He later clarified that he was not calling out Mayweather directly, more so his protegé Gervonta Davis who boxes under Mayweather’s promotional umbrella – Mayweather Promotions.
Mayweather took to Fight Hype afterwards to explain to Lomachenko that he should worry about the man in front of him next and suggested a showdown between him and one Mikey Garcia is what he’d like to see next.
Lomachenko has reacted to this Mayweather proposal in image form on social media with:
Definitely want Mikey fight @FloydMayweather .TY for smart suggestion. One day when you let me fight your guys, this will be me celebrating pic.twitter.com/E8gZVOHWBV

As you can see, Lomachenko’s belief has not changed in the slightest with the above insinuating Mayweather is protecting his fighter from him.
Davis has remained unbeaten thus far in his career and has become a world champion, only to lose that belt on the scales earlier this year through failing to make-weight.
Lomachenko on the other hand has had a stellar year – beating long time rival Guillermo Rigondeaux and establishing himself as one of the very best fighters in world boxing today.
