Boxer Amir Khan is not messing around when 2018 rolls around after an eventful last couple of years in and out of the ring.
The last in-ring appearance for Khan came back in May of 2016 at this stage. A crushing knockout defeat at the hands of Canelo Alvarez.
But what a lot of people forget was that Khan was moving up to middleweight at the time. An entire two weight divisions removed from his usual weight class of welterweight.
Since then he’s gone through a torrid time outside the ring but has finished 2017 on a positive note with the reconciliation with his wife and a popular appearance on a reality TV show.
He knows where his future lays now in terms of weight class and has defiantly posted this message for his followers with the following message:
“2018 I’m coming to get you #147lbs”

Khan has often been involved in entertaining fights over the years and comes in for a baffling amount of criticism given the value for money he’s exhibited in the ring to his credit.
At this stage of his career it’s surely only the big fights that interest him at welterweight – of which there are many available to him in the States.
Domestically in the UK one Kell Brook is no doubt an option at some stage down the line too.
Although perhaps not in the immediate future – as Brook has confirmed he is moving up to 154lbs for his next contest in the new year.
