Mikey Garcia vs ex UFC Champion in a sparring session in the US ahead of what some are predicting could be a possible fight against Lomachenko for Garcia next.
Boxers and MMA fighters are in the news a lot at the moment, for various reasons, but one MMA fighter who’s genuinely trying to make a go of improving his boxing skills is a Brazilian chap called Jose Aldo.
He’s no club fighter mind you, he was a long reigning UFC champion until being knocked out by Ireland’s Conor McGregor.
In 2017 he has moved his boxing training to Oxnard with renowned coach Robert Garcia who also coaches boxing sensation Mikey Garcia.
In some rare footage here is Mikey Garcia and Jose Aldo going at it in a boxing spar:
Mikey Garcia is currently being lined up for a fight against Vasyl Lomachenko and is thought to be the front-runner to face the pound for pound rated boxing sensation next up.
No details have been forthcoming yet but likely the bout would take place on ESPN in the US, if the deal does get over the line in the coming weeks.
A fight that would see two of the world’s top ten rated pound for pound fighters (in this writer’s opinion) go at it in their prime?
Yes please.
