The odds for an Anthony Joshua vs Fury fight are already doing the rounds and make for interesting reading ahead of what many fans hope by the end of 2018 will see the two fight – once and for all.
Fury has not boxed for over two full years at this point which obviously has to be taken into consideration from an activity standpoint alone.
But he has everything clear for him now to make a return – having put a long-standing issue with UKAD behind him.
He’s set to regain his professional boxing license in the new year.
A lot will hinge on how Fury looks in his first fight back of course and in particular, what kind of shape the former heavyweight champion comes back in after such a long time away the sport.
Fury is a man known to knuckle down when he gets into his training mind you, but after such a long time away boxing at the highest level, he’ll really have to go hell for leather on the fitness side of things.
Joshua on the other hand has been active over the last couple of years and is riding the crest of the wave.
Many believe though that if a fit Fury comes back his boxing ability and fight-style will pose the champion a lot of problems.
Bookmakers certainly think so too.
Despite Fury’s extended time away from the ring they are at the moment putting only slight favor with Joshua.
But it looks to be a very two-horse race according to Odds Checker (hat tip):
Time will tell if the fight comes to fruition in 2018. You’d have to think that the fight is too big not too happen next year or at the latest 2019.
