The annual Boxing News and Views fighter of the year awards have now been concluded after a week of voting by our readers and the general public.
First off, it is important to note that our awards are voted on directly by readers of our publication and are open to anyone from the general public.
They are not influenced in any way by internal editors nor outside parties. Therefore the results are simply down to the public who vote on them.
We had a number of categories open this year in what’s always a difficult to decide upon end of year shortlist to formulate in the first place.
All award categories were based on world boxing, not domestic. So the polls were open to anyone from any country around the globe to provide for a balanced world boxing awards.
Fighter of the year, prospect of the year, upset of the year, fight of the year and knockout of the year were the categories shortlisted.
So without further adieu – time to announce the winners, runners-up and third place finishers.
