Middleweight Champion Billy Joe Saunders Trolls Heavyweight David Haye

Billy Joe Saunders trolls David Haye in one of his first controversial happenings of the new year, fresh off a defence of his middleweight title last month.

Saunders chalked in one of the sharpest, cleanest displays of a middleweight champion in some time last month when he comprehensively out boxed David Lemieux who going into the fight was a 50/50 challenge according to the book makers.

Well, it appears that heavyweights are not even out of the reach of Saunders’ communication streams following it.

After David Haye updated fans on his comeback Billy has had the following message for Haye on Twitter:

“David do you think you hold up 12 rounds with two bad Injuries ???”

The angle by Saunders of course being pointed towards Haye’s injury history. One that has seen him pull out of a number of bouts over the years.

As regards Saunders, it will be interesting to see who is next up for him.

Recent speculation suggests he will at need one defence of his title before any shot at a fellow champion this year.

Even a Golovkin vs Canelo rematch winner might not be available for Saunders at this rate.

Both men are still negotiating a fight at the moment and furthermore, the WBC this week ordered an interim fight to take place between Jermall Charlo vs Hugo Centeno Jr.

The winner of which could conceivably get then get shot at a winner of a Golovkin vs Canelo rematch. If happens that is.

There are a lot of “ifs” going on in the middleweight division at the moment.
