World Champion Jermell Charlo Vents Anger In Passionate Tirade

World Champion Jermell Charlo

World champion Jermell Charlo has gotten a few things off his chest today following what has been a frustrating period for the world champion.

Unbeaten WBC junior-middleweight Charlo had a strong year in 2017 and showed the world just why many consider him one of, if not – the best 154lbs fighter out there.

With wins over Erikson Lubin and Charles Hatley in knockout fashion – one would have thought his star and name in world boxing would have got out there a bit more.

It didn’t though. That’s the truth. Outside of hardcore boxing fans the WBC world champion remains an unknown quantity to casual boxing and sports fans.

Speaking on Twitter, he said:

To which he followed up with:

“Not Once In My Career Have I Avoided Any Boxer, Not Once Have I Over Looked An Opponent, Nor Have I Taken The Easy Route To The CHAMPIONSHIP. Waited 3yrs At #1 Cuz Money Man Held The Title Hostage Indecisively. But Up & Down My TL I See Em Saying I Fought Nobodies #LionsOnly”

Furthermore, his anger has continued in the form of debates with fight fans online:

There’s no doubting Charlo’s talent and ability, and in the cold light of day, being a very good world champion who has continued to impressed to be fair to him.

Lets hope he gets those big opportunities he deserves this year.
