Eddie Hearn, well played old boy. No one expected this on a Sunday morning but now it’s here – the boxing world is going into overdrive at a time we least suspected to.
I can’t recall the last time a major heavyweight title fight was announced on a Sunday morning without a formal press conference.
That said, this news was expected by most and all the details within the press release sent out were the same as those expectations.
They probably just had to let the news go at this stage.
The boxing world have been woken up a little earlier than perhaps they would have liked this Sunday morning, but they won’t be complaining.
Another unification fight and in the heavyweight division no less. Excellent news that will see Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker fight on March 31st at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Here’s what the boxing world think of the news so far:
Superior job Eddie.

Easy work again… Don’t expect anything less though. Tyson Fury, when fit, will bring AJ back down to earth.
