Anthony Joshua with all the media training aside – is a fighter at his core and like most fighters his motivation is always one thing and one thing first – to fight.
When you meet real fighters you know that it’s what they are destined to do.
Fighting is everything to them almost. It’s who they are as people on the inside essentially.
While Anthony Joshua always comes off respectful outside of the ring when he gets inside of it he simply wants to clean his opponent out in as vicious a fashion as possible.
As brutal as it sounds that’s the reality of it.
A switch gets turned on fight night and the person a fighter is in their everyday lives disappears.
Speaking today at the official Joshua vs Parker press conference, Joshua spoke about this primal motivation pertaining to his upcoming opponent:
“What can I say about the verbals? I’m not really into it. It’s an opportunity for both camps. I would fight him in a car park for free. It don’t matter to me. This is what a fighter’s mentality is. That’s what I want to do, is fight. I don’t take my foot off the gas. I live it and I still live it. I came in heavy for the Takam camp when we had the change of opponent and motivation with and all that malarkey. But I’m motivated. I just wanted to win that fight so we could secure a massive 2018.”
He’ll need to be motivated for this one.
Parker is being underestimated by many which will take a lot of pressure off him in the lead in to fight night.
