Another heavyweight bout to look forward to on March 31st has been added to the Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker bill in Cardiff.
Price vs Povetkin terms have been agreed today which sets up an interesting clash in the heavyweight division.
It’s a big step up for Price who more than likely is looking at this as one last opportunity to get back into big time boxing, having had some crushing knockout defeats in his career thus far.
He’ll have a significant height, reach and power advantage over Russian Povetkin but the question will be how will Price’s gas tank and chin hold up.
A number of years back Lennox Lewis was involved in the career of Price who at the time was thought to be the next big thing in heavyweight boxing.
However four knockout defeats over the last number of years has seen has career and confidence in the ring wane.
The problem seemed to be that after five or six rounds for whatever reason his gas tank started to dwindle.
Not for lack of training and a number of tests were performed on him to find the issue, which to this day, is still not known.
Provided he comes into the fight fit and ready to go he could have a chance with Povetkin but overall it’s a close, good fight to look forward to.
