Shannon Briggs may have had a frustrating year in 2017 but you wouldn’t know it with his usual positive vibes and exuberant confidence.
Lets Go Champ is back in business following serving a ban last year after a failed drugs test.
His quest is still the same – to become heavyweight champion once more.
His life has been one full of ups and downs but his bounce back ability and mental strength to stay positive has to be up there with the very strongest.
No matter what he’s going through in life he always seems to put a good face on things. He’s got one ultimate goal left in boxing and he won’t retire until it’s done.
Speaking to Double G Sports Briggs said:
“I’m looking forward to a huge 2018. I think the time off helped me. At 46-years old I’m in the best shape of my career. I’m going to become the oldest fighter to win the heavyweight championship, and the only man to win a title in three different decades.”
The current holder of that record is George Foreman.
A tough record to beat, Briggs would really have to upset the apple cart by dethroning the likes of Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder to make his vision a reality.
