WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder has one or two things planned for the up coming Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker fight on March 31st in Cardiff.
The unification showdown in Wales will be one of the biggest heavyweight fights perhaps since Tyson Fury vs Wladimir Klitschko back in 2015, and then Joshua vs Klitschko in 2017.
It’s the big fights that the fans crave and the unification fights they want.
They’ll get both come March 31st but Deontay Wilder will not be letting the fight go unnoticed himself.
In fact he’ll be travelling over to the UK for the fight and will be in attendance.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Wilder said he plans on when the fight is over:
“I will get in the ring and go face to face with him.”
This is not uncommon in boxing where fighters jump into the ring to do an immediate call out.
Indeed, Wilder himself has experienced this in years gone by with one Tyson Fury famously jumping into a ring a few years back.
Wilder must first get past Cuban Luis Ortiz next up however.
No small feat in itself and something that he will need to take very seriously before any ring jumps can happen.
