Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton was on hand today as part of a star studded lineup in London to unveil the launch of a new concept in boxing called the ‘Ultimate Boxxer’.
Hatton since retiring from the sport actively has been training the next generation of young fighters coming through in the UK and has also had success as a promoter.
Now “The Hitman” as an ambassador for this new venture known as ‘Ultimate Boxxer’ has yet another sweet science endeavour to take his hand to.
Ricky Hatton, Former three-time Light Welterweight & Welterweight Champion of the World, and ULTIMATE BOXXER ambassador, said:
“There is a huge amount of talented British fighters who do not get, or cannot get, the mainstream exposure they deserve. In boxing you have to wait for a lucky break and ULTIMATE BOXXER will give them the opportunity for exposure and to show everyone what they are about. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened in ULTIMATE BOXXER could have done for my career when I was making my way through in the early days.”
Many will remember Hatton’s early days largely going under the radar until he was discovered on Sky, which makes this new format particularly interesting for fighters who may not have access to such opportunities in the beginning stages of their careers.
Note: First ‘Welterweight’ event April 28th @ EventCity Manchester. Sign up at www.ultimateboxxer.com for access to ticket pre-sale on Feb 19
