Chris Eubank Jr is in final preparations for his showdown with George Groves on Saturday night where all the hard work has now been put in by both men.
Fight week is usually about making weight, sharpening the tools and switching on gradually into fight mode as fight night gets closer.
Game plans are focused on as the boxer gets closer to the brutal task that lays in front of him.
Speaking to the WBSS ahead of the fight, Eubank Jr was in bullish mood:
“Okay. What’s next? George Groves? Lets go. George Groves, Callum Smith, Juergen Braehmer. I know what I am compared to those men. I’m a whole different animal.”
He continued:
“Yes this is the most important fight of my life. I’m not jumping off this guy. As soon as I see a weakness or area I can exploit, I’m there.”
On how the fight goes, Eubank Jr made reference to Groves’ chin having an off button:
“What I’m an expert at – continuous, devastating assaults. It won’t go the twelve rounds. Somebody’s getting knocked out. This chin doesn’t have an off button. His does.”
Groves has been stopped in the past, granted, but only to very big hitting super-middleweights.
Eubank Jr is not a fully fledged 168lbs fighter and the question remains does he have the one punch power to take Groves out clean at the higher weight.
