In an unlikely meeting today between leading promoter Eddie Hearn and WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders – the two men on camera made a gentleman’s agreement.

In an interesting video from Kugan Cassius of IFL the pair sat down for a conversation in Sheffield and talked all things boxing.

From the possibility of working together in the future, TV network rivalries and Hearn’s willingness to work with Saunders’ promoter Frank Warren, a lot of ground was covered.

One topic that came up was a potential future mega fight between Hearn promoted heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua and fellow management company stablemate to Saunders – Tyson Fury.

From the feedback on the above it would appear everyone involved wants the fight.

But more interestingly however was when Billy Joe Saunders put out his hand to Hearn at one point and offered to bet £50,000 that Tyson Fury will beat Joshua if they fight on the future.

Hearn extended his hand to Saunders and agreed.

He bet the same amount that his man Joshua will beat Fury if the fight happens.

The fight will happen. Make no mistake about that.

It’s just a question of when at this point.

Joshua faces WBO champion Joseph Parker next up on March 31st and Fury is expected to return in April or May.
