A photo of Groves from a few years back at a weigh-in compared to how he looked at yesterday’s weigh-in has got fans talking ahead of tonight’s showdown with Chris Eubank Jr.
The above photo of Groves surfaced just ahead of tonight’s fight and has got fans talking about how soft and gaunt Groves looks nowadays compared to what he did a few years back.
Groves though tends to look drained sometimes in his weigh-ins.
Perhaps the above photo is simply not catching him in as good a light as the other shot.
On the whole, I tend to think he perhaps is slightly after slowing down as a fighter but it is important to consider too that he more than likely has a completely different training and diet regime under new coach Shane McGuigan.
McGuigan is a man known for conditioning his fighters properly.
When he trained Carl Frampton in the past Frampton’s gas tank (for the most part) was never in question in his fights.
That’s the main question for most this weekend though, in terms of George Groves.
Will he have the gas tank to match the relentless, super-fit Chris Eubank Jr for a full twelve rounds?
Many believe the fight will go the distance so if Groves is to pull off the win, pacing himself could prove to be pivotal in his tactics early on.
