A hard-fought battle took place tonight between Caleb Plant and Porky Medina in their IBF super-middleweight world title elimination bout.

The fight went the twelve rounds in the end as Caleb Plant ran out winner by unanimous points verdict but by his own admission post-fight – he paid respect to just how tough a competitor Medina was.

Medina an experienced operator who shared the ring with the likes of world champion James DeGale in the past, gave a decent account of himself as always, but it was to be Caleb “Sweet Hands” Plant’s night tonight.

The jab proved to be a key shot for Plant who utilised it to excellent effect to establish distance over Medina both early on and throughout the contest.

Throughout the fight Plant was able to then land clean left hooks and straight right hands following the jab.

Medina had some success from time to time in terms of landing single shots on Plant but it wasn’t enough to do any real damage.

As he could not follow-up the attacks.

After the fight Plant called out current IBF champion Caleb Truax who shocked the world last year to beat James DeGale to win the IBF crown.
