Manchester boxing legend Ricky Hatton gives assessment of what he thought of the fight between George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr at the Manchester Arena this weekend.
Hatton knows the arena well from back in the day when it was called the M.E.N. Arena that he regularly packed out for his own world title fights.
Like a lot of people, he thought the pedigree of Groves proved be key in the fight in the end:
“I think Grove did fantastic and the step up i class I think found himself a little bit wanting really. But he can come back. There’s only a year difference between them (in age). Chris is young, he’s fresh, he’s not had as many miles o the clock as George Groves. He can comeback but I think George Groves tonight showed him what it’s like on that top-level.”
Interesting points from Hatton.
It goes to show that Eubank Jr can certainly come back if you look at the come back Groves made in his own career to become world champion on the fourth attempt after the fight.
The defeat at the weekend marked the second loss as a professional for Eubank Jr.
The other coming to Billy Joe Saunders.
