Kell Brook makes his fully fledged debut at the super-welterweight limit this weekend in his first fight back since losing to Errol Spence. Provided he wins it, there could be a nice carrot there for him afterwards.
WBC super-welterweight champion Jermell Charlo is scheduled to face an opponent to be confirmed on June 6th in LA at the Staples Center.
Provided Brook wins his comeback fight since losing to Errol Spence this weekend, Charlo had this to say on social media:
Hearns If Brooks Wins Within 6 He Might Be An Nominee For 06/09.. I Call The Shots On This One. LionsOnly
— JERMELL CHARLO (@TwinCharlo) March 2, 2018
Charlo has been noticeably more outspoken and aggressive on social media lately in a bid to land a fight of note.
Since winning the title originally back in 2016 Charlo is still looking for that big, breakout fight against a well-known name in boxing to get his own name out there more.
While Brook is not a massive name he is known to US fight fans given his bouts with Errol Spence, Gennady Golovkin and when he travelled to the States a few years back to beat Shawn Porter to win the world title.
