In an unexpected turn of events WBO middleweight world champion Billy Joe Saunders has narrowed his focus on American Jermall Charlo who returns to action tonight.
Jermall Charlo now campaigns at middleweight, his brother Jermell still at super-welterweight where he is WBC champion.
But the man in question, Jermall, returns to the ring tonight to take on Hugo Centeno Jr in an interim WBC world middleweight title showdown in New York.
Hence how he is on Saunders’s radar.

Saunders in typically candid fashion in terms of how he interacts with fights from North America typically, didn’t mince his words by replying:

Certainly an intriguing fight if it can be made. If both men win their next fights of course.
The April 14th date that Saunders refers to above is his own next defence against Martin Murray.
No easy feat in itself.
