The Valdez v Quigg fight tonight will take place for the WBO featherweight championship of the world but will only be available to be retained by champion Oscar Valdez following challenger Quigg missing weight yesterday.
It will mark the biggest fight of Quigg’s (34-1-2-25KO) professional career since he lost his only fight as a pro to date to Carl Frampton back in February 2016.
Two years have passed and since suffering a broken jaw in that split decision loss, Quigg has bounced back with three wins on the spin and has hired legendary trainer Freddie Roach as his new corner man.
Quigg came in a whopping 2.8lbs over the featherweight limit at yesterday’s weigh-ins.
So the WBO belt will no longer be on the line for him but the bout will still go ahead.
It will represent a big exposure opportunity for Englishman Quigg however as the fight will take place live on ESPN in the US.
Lets take a look at the times and platforms.
