Sergey Lipinets dropped a decision to Mikey Garcia this weekend but put on an entertaining battle for as long as the fight went.

Mikey Garcia became a four weight world champion with his unanimous points win in San Antonio but paid tribute to his opponent afterwards.

Following the loss, Lipinets was refreshingly honest and frank in his assessment of what happened:

Straight after the fight happened he also said:

“It was probably experience that took over at some point. Mikey is a great fighter, he can obviously crack. It was just experience that I was lacking. I want to go back in the gym and work on the problems I showed in the ring. There are a couple of holes I need to close. I’ll be back. It’s a learning experience.”
