Heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua has said what’s on his mind in response to some of his latest critic’s slights against him going into his next fight.
Joshua is currently in final preparations for his March 31st unification showdown with WBO champion Joseph Parker, where the winner will go on to hold three of the four legitimate world title belts.
The other one currently being held by WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
Coming into the Parker fight some have been questioning both Joshua’s chin and stamina, which although he has shown to have over his 20 fight career in the pros so far, still hasn’t proven either of them enough in the eyes of some.
Speaking to the UK Express, Joshua shut them down by saying simply:
“People asking about my stamina, people asking about my chin, people asking about this and that, go back and study boxing.
He also dismissed these critics as “boring” ahead of his latest title defense.
Joshua has been coming more and more out of his shell this past yer or so in the media, with his responses being enjoyably more brutally honest, frank and open.
Not media trained or carefully crafted before, in the beginning of his career.
The time for that type of media strategy for any athlete in today’s transparent, social media-driven age is now over.
People want to hear and see real people these days.
Period.
