The Whyte vs Ortiz final eliminator for Deontay Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title has now been officially confirmed and the boxing world has been reacting ten fold.
Whyte comes into the fight off an excellent performance last time out while Ortiz comes into it off the back of defeat to Deontay Wilder in his last fight.
Not long ago either.
With the prospect of a Joshua vs Wilder fight happening immediately next up not looking too good at the moment, the winner will likely get a shot later in the year at the title if the Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder bout cannot be agreed.
Here’s how some of the boxing community has been reacting so far to the final eliminator news:
So Dillian Whyte is due to fight 2 final eliminators? And why is Ortiz one fight away from Wilder a couple of months after Deontay knocked him out? ?♂️?♂️?♂️

The fight is gonna b a tough fight for both fighters. Whyte can box so also Ortiz but Ortiz more stronger. But Ortiz just lost a fight & older while Whyte is in flying mode & younger. I think DAT will play a huge part in d fight. Meanwhile, my money will b on Whyte win on points

Ortiz will knock him out

Of course he won’t. Don’t get me wrong here, Whyte isn’t bad but for me Ortiz is just on another level

Shocking by WBC, why has Ortiz been involved again. I know it’s a small pool, but this is ridiculous

It would be a good match up but the WBC look as corrupt as a group of Tory MPs by giving Ortiz another chance so soon.

Whyte being screwed over again! He should be mandatory, Ortiz has just lost to Wilder!
