Lomachenko Sets New Record With Sensational Win Over Linares

Vasyl Lomachenko proved just how great he was tonight after showing that he had to get up off the canvas to come back and beat Jorge Linares.

Lomachenko started the fight well but Jorge Linares proved more than a game competitor.

Linares dropped Lomachenko hard in round seven as the Ukraine boxing phenom got a little over confident and stepped in with his hands down – getting caught flush on the chin with a straight right hand.

Although hurt to his boots he rose to his feet and survived the round.

What ensued proved why he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world today after he came back firing at Linares, showing him that he was not finished.

Lomachenko found a perfect left hook to the body in round 10 to stop Linares and close the show.

The win improved his pro record to 11-1-9KO and saw him become the quickest professional boxer in history to become a three-weight world champion.

Whether or not Lomachenko ever decides to move up again is questionable.

The reach and weight disadvantage definitely gave Linares more or a chance than the usual Lomachenko opponents.

All in all, a superb performance however that showed massive heart from the pound for pound supremo.
