Floyd Mayweather promoted fighter Ishe Smith has had some strong words for boxing promoters in general – in a series of heated remarks on social media.
39 year old super-welterweight Smith is part of the Mayweather Promotions stable and in recent years has dropped a couple of close split decisions.
Mixed in with other losses.
His record as a pro now reads 29-10-12KO and at 39 years of age could be coming to the end of his career over the coming years.
Speaking on Twitter, while not speaking about his own promoter Floyd Mayweather directly, he did have a number of things to say about boxing promoters in general.
While not naming anyone:
“Fighters are taken advantage of, lied too, told to get jobs, promoters changing numbers to avoid fighters, when a fighter secures his future this old head is happy.”
It is important to note Smith did not point to his own promoter specifically in the heated post.
Other fighters under Mayweather Promotions’ banner however have expressed some unhappiness with Mayweather as a promoter in recent times.
Namely Gervonta Davis who is considered alongside Badou Jack to be one of Mayweather’s prized fighters in his promotional stable at this time.
