The coming together of world champions Naoya Inoue and Zolani Tete is no doubt a mouth watering prospect for most boxing fans. It’s now one that could be a reality very soon too.
Inoue showed this past Friday why once again he’s one of the premier fighters in the lighter weight class today – with a one round blitzing of former world champion Jamie McDonnell.
Inoue isn’t call ‘The Monster’ for no reason and moved up in weight on Friday to take McDonnell’s WBA bantamweight crown.
Making him a two-weight world champion and taking his record to 16-0-14KO.
30-year-old South African born WBO bantamweight champion Zolani Tete already has his eyes on a unification with the new champion and the two have exchanged words intimating that a fight is something they both want:
Congratulations @naoyainoue_410
I can’t wait for us to fight!
See you soon for #TeteTime @WBSuperSeries

To which Inoue replied:
Thank you!
I can’t wait too! https://t.co/73nooIJFXC— 井上尚弥 Naoya Inoue (@naoyainoue_410) May 28, 2018
Next season’s World Boxing Super Series with the bantamweights is shaping up nicely.
A fight between these two can only deliver in the ring, really.
Two men who are in non stop exciting fights and whom possess massive power for their size.
Here’s a look back at Inoue’s performance last Friday night:
