Deontay Wilder Reveals When Joshua Fight Could Happen

Deontay Wilder, Evander Holyfield & Shannon Briggs Predict Ruiz vs Joshua 2

WBC heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder and WBA, WBO and IBF champion Anthony Joshua are currently locked in negotiations for a potential heavyweight super fight later this year.

It’s the fight the world of boxing wants to see in truth.

Fans have been demanding it for months now but up until recently it looked like both teams were very far away from security an actual deal.

That changed recently however when things went quiet in the media for the first time in what was before that a very public saga.

A sign that things were edging closer.

Speaking to Fight Hub Wilder said:

“If we have it in England it’ll be September – if it’s here in America it’ll be November.”

He added:

“I think Joshua wants to fight but I don’t think his team want to risk what they invested.”

Wilder also added that if the fight takes place in the UK Joshua could take up to a $20 million pay cut on what the offer is compared to for the fight taking place in the US.

The bout is understood to have gone through a number of contract drafts over the last few weeks and despite the public posturing, it looks positive that the bout will happen this year.
