A George Groves vs Callum Smith WBSS final update has finally come after weeks of speculation about what will happen for the final of the World Boxing Super Series.
The WBSS has had a solid run in its first season and has already announced that it will be having a second season next year with the draw likely to take place this summer for it.
However the first season is still going on at the moment and the final of the super-middleweight tournament has been put back due to an injury on George Groves’ shoulder.
The injury came in his semi-final against Chris Eubank Jr.
It was reported earlier this month that Chris Eubank Jr might be stepping into the final in his place to take on Callum Smith but that has been categorically dispelled today.
The organisers of the tournament have medically cleared Groves for the final which will take place they said in either August or September.
The pair will contest for the Ali trophy at an official date and venue to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Groves has made strong progress on his shoulder injury in recent weeks with various training footage clips showing him now punching full force on the pads.
