Tony Bellew has given his appraisal of what he saw from heavyweight rival Tyson Fury this past weekend who returned with a win over Sefer Seferi inside the distance.
Bellew and Fury are leaving the door open to face on another down the line and Bellew speaking to Talk Sport gave his analysis of what he saw at the weekend:
“He got the job done. The opponent was dreadful but you know you kind of give him the first one back. He’s been out for the best part of three years but it’s got to be stepped up next time.”
He added:
“It can’t go on. You can’t be doing what you’re doing. There was a lot of people in there. They’re obviously frustrated by what they’ve seen, that’s why they’ve (the crowd) kicked off. It’s not good. Ultimately it’s down to the promoter. The promoter needs to make the matches better and make better cards that are more competitive. Listen, I’m just happy to see him back. He’s back fighting. He’s got over the hurdle now and his life is back on track which is the most important thing. Tyson Fury needs boxing in his life. It’s good to see him back – just the opponent was a little bit dyer that’s all.”
Bellew is also still looking for an opponent at this time.
