Oh yes, boxing has had some huge news today with the biggest fight in American boxing that can be made and indeed world boxing – in getting the signal that it is now finally on.
Things went down to the wire today in negotiations between Golovkin and Canelo’s teams.
Things took quite some time for everyone to agree but alas, is often the case in boxing, things were resolved at the last-minute.
Promoter of Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya, was the first to announce things a while ago.
But now, at long last, Golovkin himself and his promoter Tom Loeffler have also given confirmation.

Good times for boxing fans, the sport and everyone else who has a passing interest in seeing two of the best fighters in the world throw down.
September 15th, the world will finally get their rematch that they have been craving for since last year’s controversial judging decision.
