Carl Frampton’s Windsor Park dream in Belfast on August 18th is fast approaching and rumors of who the opponent will be have just gotten stronger. If not being put to bed entirely with this.
To fight at Windsor Park stadium in his hometown of Belfast, Northern Ireland has been a life-long dream for Frampton and something he’s mentioned early on in his pro career consistently of wanting to do.
Even former heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury will feature on the card and the event is building to be a special one already two months out.
Australian Luke Jackson (16-0-7KO) had been touted as a possible opponent and the fact he’s just touched down in Belfast today and released the following on social media, is pointing very strong fingers to him being the man to face Frampton:
I’ve arrived in Belfast 🇮🇪🇦🇺

Although not officially announced as Frampton’s opponent, the above seems to be too much of a co-incidence given the fact the pair are in the same weight category and previous murmurings of Jackson had been mentioned in boxing circles.
Plus the fact he’s literally flown 24 hours just to get to the same city where Frampton’s fight will be on August 18th.
The plot thickens, as they say, ahead of what should be a special night of boxing in one of the best fight cities in the world – Belfast.
