Errol Spence and Terence Crawford appear to be on an inevitable collision course should they both keep winning and fans can’t stop talking about a potential fight.
Anytime two of the current top five-pound for pound fighters in the world have an opportunity to meet in their primes, boxing fans always get excited.
There’s no doubt it will be a big money fight down the road but it could be 12-18 months away at the earliest.
Speaking in a media scrum after his fight last night, Errol Spence said of Crawford:
“I have no message for the man. Nothing at all. I have no message at all. I’m tired of giving messages. I’ve been giving out messages. 11 straight knockouts – what other message can I send that man? He’s doing his thing. I’m doing my thing. We’re going to meet up. It’s going to be a big money fight. Should be on pay per view. It’s going to happen. I hope Terence Crawford keeps winning. Keeps looking impressive. I hope I keep winning and looking impressive. We going to meet up.”
Well, there you have it.
Both fighters surely know that a fight between the two is going to happen eventually.
Sooner or later.
