WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is fed up with Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn as both teams look set to finally reach an agreement next week to make the super fight in the heavyweight division that everyone wants to see.
All signs are pointing to an agreement but in boxing, never say never.
It’s not done until it’s signed on the dotted line in boxing. Ever.
One thing is for sure though, boxing fans and casual sports fans alike want to see this fight.
It’s a fight that will see all four recognized heavyweight world titles on the line and will crown an undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Deontay Wilder is not totally convinced it will happen just yet though.
Speaking to Michelle Phelps of Behind The Gloves, Wilder had some tough words for Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn:
“At the end of the day there’s only one side (to believe in the negotiations). Our side – because we speak the truth. Anybody that knows me even from when I’m young, I say what I mean and I mean what I say. Especially when you are dealing with a situation like this. At this point we don’t even have to go into the smaller details. It’s like the finer print on the contract. Now the fine print is starting to reveal something big and I said this two years ago that Eddie (Hearn) was a manipulator, a contradictor and he’s a compulsive liar. You see, people may have had their own opinions back then.”
He added:
“I speak it like it is. I don’t have strings on me. I’m not a puppet.”
Hopefully this fight will get signed once and for all next week.
After negotiations that have seemed to have gone on for a lifetime.
