Deontay Wilder gives a controversial list of who he rates in the top five of the heavyweight division at the moment.
Wilder has gotten the boxing world talking with this interview with Behind The Gloves this morning where he blasted Eddie Hearn (Joshua’s promoter) as a snake and made bold remarks pertaining to alleged steroid use by Anthony Joshua.
Could this be a sign that the fight deal is closed to be signed or is just Wilder getting things off his chest?
Likely a bit of both. At this stage.
Another topic covered in the interview was where he believes he and the rest of the best heavyweights in the division stack up.
Here’s how he sees it:
? Deontay Wilder has listed his top five heavyweights in world boxing to @BehindTheGloves:
1⃣ Deontay Wilder
2⃣ Luis Ortiz
3⃣ Tyson Fury
4⃣ Joseph Parker
5⃣ Anthony Joshua (bumped down below Parker because he’s “scared”)— Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn) June 23, 2018
Joshua all the way down at number five seems way off, to be fair.
Particularly given the fact he holds three of the recognized four world title belts in boxing at the moment.
Also, Fury has only just recently made his comeback to the sport and it won’t perhaps be fair to gauge where he stands until at least after his next fight in August.
