Amir Khan will have his second comeback fight this September but he is already looking ahead to after that and his big fight in December.
Khan is still easing back into things at the moment, understandably, after such a break from the sport after losing to Canelo all the way up at middleweight.
A quick blast out of Phil Lo Greco left Khan feeling like he needs more rounds and on September 8th against Samuel Vargas in Birmingham, he’ll hope he can get some.
After that however it’s back in the deep end of the swimming pool for the super quick British boxer.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Khan mentioned the winner of Manny Pacquiao vs Lucas Matthysse next month is something he’s open to:
“Definitely, I mean this fight is an eliminator for the WBA title which gives me chance to fight the winner of Manny Pacquiao vs Lucas Matthysse. Definitely (I’d take the fight). Pacquiao if he wins that fight would be amazing. I’ve been chasing Manny Pacquiao for a long, long time. To be the mandatory, I could not turn that down.”
In terms of clashes of styles, what a fight Pacquiao and Khan would be for just speed on display alone.
Granted, Pacquiao is coming to the end of his career, but he still has enough speed and explosive power to make an Amir Khan fight more than entertaining.
