Timothy Bradley knows a thing or two about Manny Pacquiao having shared the ring with the Filipino boxing great and recently was on hand to give his take on next week’s fight between Pacquiao and Matthysse.
Three times no less, of which Pacquiao won two of the fights and Bradley one of them.
Next Saturday on July 15th Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse will face off for the WBA ‘Regular’ welterweight world title in Malaysia in a clash of two warriors coming to the end of their careers.
Speaking to ES News, Bradley said of the fight:
“I think it’s a great fight. I think the speed, the power (of Pacquiao) is going to give Matthysse problems. But Matthysse got that punch, that one knockout punch, that right hand. So he will have his opportunities but I just think Pacquiao might have too much experience and still be able to out maneuver the younger guy. Yeah he’s (Pacquiao) tough, you’ve got to take it to him in spots. I think Matthysse will have his opportunities if he can get to him but I think Pacquiao is going to move.”
He added:
“That’s a great fight. Who wouldn’t want to see that? Who wouldn’t want to tune in to see Pacquiao vs Lomachenko go at it? That’s a great fight but I don’t think Lomachenko will go up to 147lbs to face him.”
This weekend’s bout will be live on ESPN plus in the US and on BoxNation in the UK.
