Former heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury has now officially learned of who he will be fighting next month.
Fury will box next month on the Carl Frampton Windsor Park show in Belfast on April 18th.
It has been confirmed today that Fury will take on Italian born / German based Francisco Pianeta in his second comeback fight to the sport.
A one time IBO heavyweight champion, while Pianeta may not be a household name, he does represent a step up from Fury’s first comeback opponent earlier this year against Sefer Seferi.
Pianeta has mixed in decent class in his career and with four losses on his record, they have come to known quantities in boxing such as Wladimir Klitschko and Ruslan Chagaev for example.
At 6’5 he’s also a relatively large heavyweight, certainly compared to Seferi, which Fury has gone on record in recent times as saying he wants in preparation for taller opponents like Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua next year.
Speaking a short time ago on Instagram Fury released the fight poster for the bout on August 18th:
