Pacquiao Recalls The Fight That Made Him Want A Piece Of Matthysse

What Trainer Told Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao while being a legend of the sport of boxing is also a keen fan who watches fights when he’s not in training it turns out.

He’s the type of fan, like many of us, that enjoys all action brawls that involve two fighters going toe to toe and putting it all on the line.

He’s been in a few of those over the years when you look back at some of his classic fights in the early days against the likes of Barrera and Morales, but in recent years he’s adopted more a boxer-puncher style.

However he wants to provide action this weekend and told the world’s media of the fight that sparked his intitial interest in a bout with Matthysse this weekend:

“When I saw his fight against (Ruslan) Provodnikov it was a good fight and a lot of action in the ring, so I chose Lucas Mathtysse because he is an aggressive fighter and I believe if we fight we can create more action in the ring and the fans will enjoy it and be happy.”

Pacquiao will in fact be the challenger this weekend for Matthysse’s WBA ‘Regular’ world title crown – so expect fireworks as long as it lasts and a steely determination from the champion.

Manny Pacquiao will bid to record his 60th win as a professional this weekend against Lucas Matthysse.
