Manny Pacquiao is flying high once again and let the welterweight division know he’s not done yet after a classic performance this weekend over Lucas Matthysse.
39-year-old Pacquiao showed he has plenty of punching power and boxing skills left to compete just yet.
Mind you, he now finds himself in a very tough division at the top.
One that has a lot of the new blood dominating the pound for pound rankings no less.
Namely Terence Crawford and Errol Spence.
Speaking after the fight Pacquiao told ABS-CBN News on TV what he felt proved the difference for him this weekend:
“Its God’s blessing to have a fight like that and hard work and training. So many things that we did in this training camp. We pushed ourselves and sacrificed. Even my coaches, my team stop me to rest but I’m pushing myself to the limit all the time (in the training camp).”
He certainly looked like he had trained much harder than he did for the Jeff Horn last year.
It really showed in the quality of his performance.
What next for Pacquiao only he will know but some have suggested that last night might be the perfect fight to go out on and finish an amazing career on.
One suspects he’ll box on though.
