The Teofimo Lopez jumping punch tonight may well have stolen the show aside from his overall excellent performance, which saw the prospect move to 10-0 as a professional fighter.
20-year-old Top Rank promoted Lopez has been highly touted as a future star over the last year or two and tonight he showed again why those claims might not be too far off the mark.
Fighting tonight in New Orleans, Lopez captured the vacant World Boxing Council Continental Americas Lightweight Title when the referee waved off the fight against out matched opponent William Silva.
Early on Lopez had his man down with a huge left hook but to the amazement of many, Silva managed to get up.
As the fight progressed Lopez bust out all the moves and showed just why Top Rank have shown such much faith in him.
This jumping punch isn’t something you see everyday in boxing:

After this Lopez went on to score another knockdown in round five and again in round six, before the referee mercifully waived things off in round 6.
A natural entertainer, Lopez looks like he has everything in his boxing arsenal to become a big star if he can keep churning in performances like this one tonight on ESPN +.
