Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao is once again a sought after commodity in boxing by rival promoters following his big TKO win over Lucas Matthysse last weekend.
While Pacquiao has been linked with fights against Terence Crawford and Vasyl Lomachenko, when comparing their overall star and fame compared to Amir Khan, the Khan fight would make more financial sense for Pacquiao as a bigger fight worldwide.
Having mentioned he wants to box two or three more times, it’s surely just about the big fights for Pacquiao at this late stage in his career too.
Speaking at yesterday’s DAZN streaming service launch for boxing in the US promoter Eddie Hearn said he’s interested in Pacquiao:
“Absolutely (I’m interested). I don’t know his situation with Top Rank but if he is a free agent, we’ll definitely be talking to Manny Pacquiao about fighting on DAZN.”
On possibly facing his fighter Amir Khan, Hearn nodded:
“Definitely a potential fight.”
It is unclear what Pacquiao’s promotional situation is at the moment however.
Last weekend’s bout in Malaysia was actually promoted by a promotional entity of his own and it is also not clear at this point if he will look to keep boxing in Asia under the banner for the remainder of his career.
What is clear however is that a big fight is most certainly in store for him next up, no doubt about it.
